Dry well at Luno HighSwedish oil company Lundin's exploration at the Luno High prospect in the North Sea, but the well turned out dry. February 4th, Lundin spudded exploration well 16/4-5 in search of oil in license 316 DS, 40 kilometres northeast of Sleipner. The Norwegian Oil Directorate reports that the company found oil traces in cracks in the reservoir. But even though Lundin did not succeed in this well, the company still believes in the potential of finding additional resources in the area. Lundin has been granted another license close by Luno High. The prospect in the license is called Avaldsnes, and Lundin will start exploration for petroleum in this year's third quarter. The rig "Transocean Winner" will be towed further on to the Talisman's Aubrey prospect near Yme. |
